Back to School: Exam Revision

Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Back to School on our blog! Hope you are having fun as the weathers gets colder, mornings become lazier and boom! The exam schedule is out! Didn’t it feel like school just started? If you are in a similar position, follow along as I’ll be sharing some tips that worked for me in the Revision Season!

Early Bird

Be an early bird! Start your preparations at least a month in advance. Make sure you know the material really well at least a month in advance to avoid last minute panic. This will help you be more confident when you step into the exam hall and you’ll know that if a question comes from the material assigned, you will get full marks on it.

Group Study

I found that at the nascent stages of revision, group study worked really well for me. It motivated me to get into that revision mode. Let’s be real, the hardest part of revision is to actually get into the groove of studying. Having friends around you to discuss what you revised yesterday will not only motivate you to study but also help you learn the concept better as you teach others.

Make Mistakes

Well, you were probably taken aback by this heading, but mistakes is the first step to learning. When you make a mistake once and correct it, you’ll remember the correct way to do something all your life. So challenge yourself, make mistakes and learn from them so that you are very confident going into the exam.

Revision Sessions

Teachers usually conduct revision sessions in school a week before the exams. This is your time to clear any doubts on the material, ask your teacher for more study resources and discuss past exam questions to be more familiar with the pattern of the exam and style of questions.

Relax

Finally, just relax. Having a calm and relaxed mind will be beneficial when you need to think out of the box. It is necessary to avoid confusion and avoid making silly mistakes. Just be confident, and I’m sure you’ll come out with flying colours! After all, it is just an exam. Best of luck!
